Base metals prices continue downtrend as China’s intervention coal markets continue to weigh. |
||
Thermal coal futures in China continue to sell off and nearly hit the 10% down trading limit in Thursday’s trading session. Chinese thermal coal prices are down almost 40% since October 19. As metals producers have shuttered production due to high electricity costs, lower thermal coal prices could encourage production. Prices for base metals could fall further if higher metals production occurs. (10/29/2021). |
