China’s aluminum production increases in December and for 2021. |

According to government data, last month China produced 3.18 million mt of aluminum in December, up from 3.07 million in November. Total production for 2021 was 38.49 million mt, up from 37.07 million mt in 2020. Despite government efforts to reduce smog by demanding that aluminum smelters reduce production, output remained high in 2021. (1/12/2022) |
